Guha's early life began in Calcutta and moved between India, Russia, and the UK. Her formal study of literature began at University College London, where she read English. A Frank Knox Fellowship later took her to Harvard University. She went on to earn an MFA at the Yale School of Drama, working with Paula Vogel.
Her plays move between intimate portraits and ensemble worlds. Characters often meet at the point where desire and inheritance collide. Comedy sits beside grief, and poetry sits beside argument. The stage becomes a place where contradictions are held rather than solved.
New work has been developed with organisations including the Culture Project, New Century Theatre Company, WordBRIDGE, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and the Tobacco Theatre in the United Kingdom.
Her time in residence has included the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, SPACE at Ryder Farm, and the Ucross Foundation. Guha holds a Dramatists Guild Fellowship and was a Time Warner Fellow with the Women's Project Playwrights Lab. She is an affiliated artist at New Georges, completed the Ars Nova Playgroup, and took part in the Young Writers Program at the Royal Court Theatre.
