….is hurtling to a close. I had a few wonderful months working on the epic HERCULINE and LOLA with the brave students at USC in the brilliant directing hands of Steve Pearson. I worked through the next draft of THE ART of GAMAN at a week long workshop at the Lark Play Development Center with the stellar Lauren Keating. And finally was in two processes with LIFTED at the Playwrights Foundation in San Francisco with Amy Mueller and at New Georges in New York with Sarah Krohn. Somewhere in there I wrote a play in five hours for the 24 Hour Play Festival on Broadway directed by the wonderful Eduardo Ponti starring Phylicia Rashad. |

I am utterly delighted to be the inaugural recipient of the Shakespeare’s Sister Playwriting Fellowship. The prize, in Ellen McLoughlin’s words, is to facilitate the creation of “an entirely new kind of play than a playwright would ever have been able to write without it.” The Fellowship partners with three wonderful organizations; A Room of Her Own, the Lark and Hedgebrook to create a structure over a year that will support a new work from gestation through writing. I am thrilled! Read all about the Fellowship here. I’m also so proud to be part of two new wonderful circles of theatre folks! |
